Espoo, Finlande, 14.08.2007 Nokia annonce aujourd’hui une recommandation produit pour la batterie marquée NOKIA BL-5C fabriquée par Matsushita Battery Industrial Co., Ltd. du Japon entre Décembre 2005 et Novembre 2006. Cette recommandation produit ne s’applique pas aux autres batteries marquées Nokia. Nokia a identifié que dans de très rares cas les batteries marquées Nokia BL-5C sujettes à cette recommandation produit pouvaient potentiellement connaitre une surchauffe due à un court-circuit pendant la charge, ce qui entraîne un désajustement de la batterie dans son emplacement. Nokia travaille très étroitement avec Matsushita et travaillera avec les différentes autorités pour évaluer la situation. Nokia a plusieurs fournisseurs de batteries BL-5C qui collectivement ont produit plus de 300 millions de batteries BL-5C. Cette recommandation produit s’applique uniquement aux 46 millions de batteries fabriquées par Matsushita entre Décembre 2005 et Novembre 2006, à partir desquelles environ 100 incidents de surchauffe ont été rapportés globalement. Aucun blessé ou dommages importants ont été signalés. Les consommateurs possédant une batterie BL-5C concernée par cette recommandation produit doivent savoir que l'ensemble des 100 incidents approximativement ont eu lieu lors du chargement de la batterie. Selon les connaissances de Nokia, ce problème n'affecte aucun autre usage du téléphone mobile. Bien que les cas défectueux soient rares pour ces batteries BL-5C produites par Matsushita dans la période spécifiée, les consommateurs soucieux peuvent demander un remplacement de n’importe quelle batterie BLC-5C concernée par cette recommandation produit. Il est important de noter que la batterie Nokia BL-5C n’est pas utilisée dans tout les produits Nokia et que seule une part des batteries BL-5C produites dans le monde est sujette à cette recommandation produit. Comment identifier une batterie BL-5C produite par Matsushita durant la période concernée ? Afin de déterminer si une batterie rentre dans le cadre de cette recommandation, il faut premièrement enlever la batterie du combiné. Une batterie Nokia aura le mot Nokia et « BL-5C » écrit sur la face avant. Au dos, la marque Nokia apparaitra en haut et le numéro d’identification de la batterie (à 26 caractères) se trouvera en bas. Les consommateurs doivent se référer à ce numéro d’identification pour savoir si elle a été produite par Matsushita entre Décembre 2005 et Novembre 2006. Une vérification de ce nombre avec ceux sujets à cette recommandation permettront d’obtenir un remplacement sans frais de la batterie.
