Nokia launches affordable 3G touch smartphone with WiFi

Nokia today announced the Nokia C5-03, a stylish 3G touch smartphone with Wi-Fi and free voice-guided navigation from Ovi Maps. The Nokia C5-03 smartphone, featuring Ovi services, brings the convenience of both Wi-Fi and high-speed cellular connectivity at a price that is accessible to hundreds of millions of people across the globe. Everyday, more than 200,000 new people sign up for Ovi, which is now available in more than 190 countries, enabling people to discover great services including Maps, Music, Messaging, Store, and in select countries, Life Tools.

A stylish full-touch smartphone available in a variety of dynamic colours, the Nokia C5-03 comes with free Ovi Maps and voice-guided navigation for almost 80 countries. The latest version of Ovi Maps (available initially through Nokia Beta Labs) includes new information on public transportation, as well as features that allow users to check in with popular social-location features from the likes of Facebook and Ren Ren.

The Symbian ^1 smartphone includes a customizable home screen with quick access to contacts, email and the wealth of apps available in the Ovi Store. Nokia C5-03 owners can also easily set up Ovi Mail, the free email account provided by Nokia, as well as a number of other popular email accounts including Yahoo!® Mail, and Windows Live™ Hotmail.

The Nokia C5-03 is expected to begin shipping in the fourth quarter 2010 at a suggested retail price of EUR 170 before taxes and operator subsidies.
